The promotion among large groups of importers and distributors was also attended by waiters and future professionals.
Pisco shone at Vinexpo, the largest professional event dedicated to wines and spirits in France and Europe, which took place from February 13 to 15 at the Port of Versailles in Paris, reported the Peruvian Export Promotion Commission and Tourism (PROMPERU). This was the first foray of Pisco into this exclusive event in the world of spirits, thanks to the PROMPERÚ Commercial Office in Paris. Peru was presented in the Spirits area, which brought together world-renowned drinks such as cognac, armagnac, whiskey, gin, calvados, among others.
In a single stand, Peru hosted artisan brands that are not yet distributed in Europe and those that already have a significant presence in this region.

In Vinexpo there were 3,115 exhibitors and 1,335 products distributed in 43 pavilions.
Under the sector brand Pisco Spirit of Peru, 23 drinks from the five pisco regions (Lima, Ica, Arequipa, Moquegua and Tacna), attracted the attention of hundreds of importers, distributors, winemakers, sommeliers and cavistas from Europe, Asia, the United States United States and Latin America.
Colorful Pisco-based cocktails were tasted by professional visitors, who were satisfied with the flavor, versatility, and quality of our flagship drink.
The first female sommelier in Peru and specialist in Pisco, Giovanna López Muñoz, delighted buyers with tasting, pairing and preparations that gave the national drink greater visibility. Likewise, it had the participation of the national sommelier champions Joseph Ruiz and Juan Pablo Figueroa, who also gave demonstrations to the general public.

The Piscos that stood out in Paris were 1615, Tres Jinetes, Armada, Macedonio, Solitario, Don Amadeo, Demonio de los Andes, El Brujo, Fontana, Intipalka, La Caravedo, Portón, Pisco Pago de los Frailes, La Diablada, Macchu Pisco , Macerado de Frutos del Campo Misterioso, Marqués de Torán, Queirolo, Sérvulo, Tabernero, Tierra Nueva, Tres Generaciones and Velásquez.
It is important to mention that the European Union recognized Pisco in 2013 as a protected geographical indication of Peru. In 2018, the cities of Pisco and Cognac were twinned, thus demonstrating that they share the spirits of the world of wine that roots them in an ancient tradition and are legally protected internationally.

Exports
Pisco exports to France between January and November 2022 totaled USD 526,257, showing an increase of 90.6% in relation to 2021. The French market ranks fifth as a destination for exports in the world.
In 2021, PROMPERÚ France created the first Pisco College in Paris, a training platform for bar and hotel staff to teach the history and particularities of our flagship drink, which has contributed to a greater presence in this market.
